Close up on a scarce blue Motorcyle Mohr & Krauss , Nuremberg 1913

A gorgeous motorcycle from Mohr & Krauss, 1913

Earliest clockwork motorcycles toys honours to go to both German makers Gunthermann and Lehmann around 1910. First examples of the species were also produced by Fisher, Muller& Kaderer and Mohr & Krauss (all german toymakers) that were no less attrative.
This exciting toy marked M&K and distributed worldwide by MOKO, seems to be one of the earliest clockwork motorcycle toy made in Germany by the Mohr and Krauss manufacture, housed in the Nuremberg area. Included in the parisian store catalogue « À la place Clichy » in 1913,  this toy in excellent condition for age is made in fine lithographed tin and  measures 7.8 inches long. The remarkably detailed decoration of the metal shows a twin  motor. A lever we can see on the left side of the toy allows to move a looped spring rather than a chain. Undoubtely a gorgeous toy so representative of this wonderful eden era for the mechanical toys.

Estimated :  $ 5 000 €  - $ 6 000
